What happens during CEREC same-day crown placement?

During CEREC same-day crown placement, Dr. Ament numbs the treatment area using local anesthetic. She removes any decay and files down the affected tooth to make room for your new crown. She takes a digital impression of the affected tooth, and a CEREC machine creates a permanent dental crown while you wait.

After Dr. Ament bonds the crown to your tooth, she ensures it fits properly and comfortably before you head home.

If you’ve previously received a dental implant, Dr. Ament attaches a new implant-supported crown to the metal post to fill in a gap left by a missing or extracted tooth. 

What should I expect after receiving a CEREC same-day crown?

The treated tooth may be tender for a day or two, but you can resume typical daily activities right after receiving a CEREC same-day crown.

Take good care of your new restoration by not chewing on hard objects, brushing your teeth at least twice daily, flossing every day, and attending six-month dental cleanings and exams at Bothell Family Dentistry.
